challenges facing of philippine nursing informatics

There are many challenges facing of Philippine informatics , for us we believe that the challenges is how will informatics to become part in the hospital settings . Because there are hindrances to the nursing informatics to exist in our hospitals , One of those is lack of financial support that will support the hospitals to have NI . Because the as we see in our country today that there are a lot of problems that need to be prioritized first. Another challenge that nursing informatics facing in the Philippines like some people are taking advantages to the advance technology in doing wrong or bad to other people.

Is Informatics existent in the Philippines?

We believe that INFORMATICS is existing in the Philippines. But it only exist in the few establishments or agencies. Maybe because of lack of money, knowledge and skills. Although we have first thing to prioritize in our daily needs. Although it has advantages and disadvantages regarding INFORMATICS. We both all know that using this new technology is very useful to us. But some cannot afford it because its too expensive.

                                                                           

For example;

The Department store where we buy some stuffs they give us receipt for what we’ve bought in a store.

The Pharmacies where we buy medicines. They first look for their records of meds. And gives us computerized receipt.

The new technologies that we have can help us in the field of medicine because it has a big advantage and a big help to us in our works.

Some agencies now are very particular of using this technology because it helps to serve their costumers and clients faster and easier. But we should think first before we do anything.

Can ICT solve our problems in HEALTH CARE?

In our own opinion ICT (IMMEDIATE CARE TECHNOLOGY) can solve our problems regarding HEALTH CARE. It helps us to give health care to our patient , to make things faster and easier through the advancement of this new technology. Through the new technology that we have right now, it helps us to make our job and responsibilities accurately in the field of medical professions.

Through ICT it gives care to our patient that needs immediate action regarding to his/her condition without any questions being ask to the patient. Because all the information’s are gathered in the computers about all the important data’s such as ; the past health history of your client/patient. And it can easily identify the problems of your patient and formulate interventions. Therefore, nurses can formulate nursing intervention immediately.

If all sectors of the different society in our government and also the DOH ( DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ) will join hands in promoting ICT in all over our country the mortality of mankind will lessen. Nurses can do their job and responsibilities according to the needs of their clients and of course to give nursing care to save lives.

REALIZATION IN NURSING INFORMATICS

When we heard about “ NURSING INFORMATICS “ it makes us wondered what is really the meaning of this and what is it all about. And in our thoughts NURSING INFORMATICS is all about computer works which lies on how the health care provider be literate in using this new technology. In addition, we also learn how to document some important details regarding to the patients / clients data’s , computing numbers , making a computerized patient profile and etc,.

But it came in our minds that it is also an information about our client and to our profession of being a nurse, not only nurses can use it but also those people who knows how to use it well. This new technology helps us to make things faster and easier. And we believe that NURSING INFORMATICS are made because of our new technology today.

Through NURSING INFORMATICS it will helps us to become knowledgeable about the use of computer in the hospital setting.  For example ; The records of our patients or clients , The dosage of their medications , Computing the payments / bills and etc,.

Because we all know that technology nowadays is very useful to everyone. Although there are some disadvantages of this new technology that we have. And one of this is technology can be misused and this can lead to environmental degradation and health issues. It is also guilty of increasing the gap between developed and developing countries. So let us use our knowledge to help others and do what is right.
